Meet Kerrits new sister-brand, EQL by Kerrits.
I am helmet over tall boots for the new brand EQL by Kerrits, their business initiatives, and a few of their new FW2020 pieces. Incase you haven’t heard, there’s a new girl on the block – EQL by Kerrits! Kerrits Equestrian launched their sister-brand in fall of 2020. EQL by Kerrits mission is to sustainably create affordable equestrian lifestyle clothing for the modern-day equestrian. Plus, they donate 1% of sales to support horse rescues. It’s refreshing to have a new equestrian brand on the market that really focuses on making a positive impact in the community. With that being said, let’s dive into a few of my favourite items!
1. ORGANIC COTTON LUCK SWEATER FROM EQL BY KERRITS
This sweater is the definition of cozy perfection. I love wearing this sweater at home while working in my office, then throwing on some breeches to go for a late afternoon ride with Forrest!
It’s lightweight, breathable, soft, low maintenance (easy, machine washable care), and BONUS – makes you look effortlessly chic with the pointelle horseshoe design. The fit is relaxed but not oversize, which I appreciate so that I am not swimming in my clothes! It can also be easily tucked-in to kick your outfit up a notch. The flattering feminine design and cut makes it very versatile. It’s great for any occasion – I can totally see myself pairing it with a skirt for church, post-pandemic of course.
2. THREE-SEASON TAILORED BREECHES BY KERRITS
These breeches are ideal for the Northern equestrian. Canada sees winter for 8 months of the year, so keeping warm is essential. These breeches do EXACTLY that!
These breeches are warm, comfortable, durable, functional, and flattering. I will be wearing these all winter-long and buying a few more pairs as gifts. My favourite aspect is the material. It’s hard to come by breeches with nice, durable material. I’ve only been able to find this type of luxurious textile through Italian equestrian brands, which usually costs me an arm and a leg. These bring the modern-day equestrians some high-quality goods at an affordable cost. Plus, the sizing is very inclusive, and the design includes an elastic waistband, which I know my curvy girls will appreciate!
3. LOVE TO BITS CAPE IN ACORN FROM EQL BY KERRITS
I have been obsessed with this acorn / coffee colour all year long. If you follow me on Instagram, you definitely have seen this colour pop up in my palette. When I saw this beautiful cape come out, it followed me into my dreams. I had to get my hands on it!
Wearing this cape makes you feel like the invincible horse girl that you are and radiates equestrian energy everywhere you go! I love the design, with its oversized flowy fit, along with the soft material. I was worried it would be bulky, but it’s a great lightweight layer to throw on when you are feeling chilly. Pair this with a black long sleeve, a pair of black breeches, and tan over-the-knee boots for an effortlessly chic equestrian street-style look. It’s perfect for family dinners, date night, errands, or just around the house!
4. WRAP IT UP SCARF FROM EQL BY KERRITS
This scarf is the perfect accessory for all-year round! The glen plaid pattern is very similar to traditional houndstooth. It is a classic pattern and my favourite by far.
This scarf makes you look effortlessly chic every where you go! Not only is this scarf a beautiful pattern, but it is also versatile and multi-purposeful. I love using this as a shawl over my shoulders when I’m indoors, and as a traditional scarf when out and about. I cannot wait for summer to come around again so I can style it as a beautiful scarf top or beach wrap next.
